We are up early to repack into one suitcase and drive to the airport where we park the car and take a 20 minute flight to Palma, Majorca. After checking into our hotel we walk to the harbor, where the USS Enterprise is in port. We have a nice lunch at the harbor, then see the cathedral, and walk some more until tired. For supper we find a lovely small French restaurant for a good meal and a red rose for Betty.
On a morning walk to the yacht harbor we see big & beautiful yachts from many places: Hong Kong, Liverpool, London, etc. Betty buys a beautiful string of Majorca pearls, and after a cheese sandwich at a sidewalk cafe we pick up our luggage at the hotel and go to the airport. It is an almost full large jet for the short flight to the island of Ibiza, where we take a bus to town, another bus to Santa Eulalia, and a third bus to the road going to our isolated resort hotel. After walking some carrying the suitcase we stop for a beer, and take a taxi on from there. We stay two nights, and enjoy long walks along the coast, as well as eating a lobster that we select live from a tank for our dinner.
Returning, to Barcelona we taxi to Santa Eulalia and take busses to town and the Ibiza airport for another short flight to Barcelona. We pick up our car and detour by Gaudi’s very interesting Sagrada Familia church on the way to the Hotel Cristal. After repacking and resting we start to walk out to dinner but it is raining; we go a little way, but after getting wet return to the hotel for supper.
